More MetroDome Magic as Twins Win the A.L. Central Title
The Minnesota Twins will never give up and the MetroDome has no intention of letting the Twins end their 28 year run in the Dome. One of the most exciting games of baseball to be played in the Metrodome since the World Champion teams of 1987 & 1991.
If you were at the game or watching it on TV, I am sure you went through the same emotional roller coaster ride that I was on. The Wild Thing at Valleyfair would pale in comparison.
On Tuesday night, it took 12 innings to crown a champion. Game No. 163 was filled with intense back-and-forth scoring, pitching showdowns and critical at-bats. The drama finally ended 4 1/2-hours later when rarely used Alexi Casilla singled to right field, allowing speedy Carlos Gomez to score from second base and capping off a 6-5 victory for the Twins over the history making Tigers, giving Minnesota its fifth division title in the past eight seasons.
Now The Twins square off against a Yankee team that beat them 7 straight times this season. All I have to say about that is “The Twins will never quit” and baseball can be magical just like Tuesday night. Good Luck Twins!
